RIHANNA'S FIRE BOMB - ROCK OR POP?

I swear i have listened to this song for the billionth time in my car stereo and I always play it real loud. Initially the lyrics did not mean shit to me... the sheer burst of energy did it for me. Later i attempted singing along, improvising with my own words where i couldn't make out what she was saying then i realized I was playing foolery trying where i could easily get the lyrics on the internet.

When i picked up the "Rated R" album, i did so because i liked just three songs in the Album "Russian Roulette", "Hard" and "Rude Boy".. I never gave the other tracks any chance at all. But every once in a while a line from one of the other tracks will jump at me and give me a reason to listen.

As a die hard rock lover who grew up on all tempos of rock, I instantly fell in love with "Fire Bomb". The lyrics were as intense as the tempo and Rihanna's delivery of the piece was exceptional.

"Yeahh Ohhh

Gunfire left a hole in the tank, losing gasoline

Fire is on my trail and he's after me

Hope it don't get here before I get where I'm going I gotta get where I'm going

Take off my mask to breathe

The song basically talks about love-gone-sour where the individuals involved are willing to break all links to the wonderful memories they once shared to a point of severely hurting their partners.

In my opinion this song is one of Rihanna's most underrated songs. A true example of lyrical and aural excellence

It is kinda a pop song with a rock appeal or vice versa. What do you think?
